Day Extra

Saturday again. We went to school to do our animation parts. I did some illustrations, and clinton did the audios. That's all for today.

I wasn't in school today as i need to do some other things. Byes!

Last Day - Screening Day

I woke up late, quickly bathe and cab down to school. Then, we found out that out video had not been transfer to the tape yet, took quick long and we were all rushing for time as the presentation is starting soon. Managed to finish it, although was 10 mins late. And so we went on to see the works done by other groups too. All of them were so good, I was so fascinated. But I think the most well-done work was Jeremy's group's. It was the best, the animation was excellent, the video was eye-catching, everything was so well done, even Ronald clapped his hand while watching it. It was so near industry standard. They really rocks!

Finally, P1 is over! Yeahs!

Day 16

We did voice over today and some sound editings. I helped in some of the subtitles. Nothing much today.

Day 15

We all thought today was presentation day but we were mistaken. It was just consultation for today. So we rendered our video while waiting for our turn. It was long waiting, i almost fell asleep. Finally it was our turn, so we went to see Ronald. After looking at the video, he said that the colour quality was quite bad and some parts had very noisy background sounds. So we took note of these. After that, we went to re-shoot the 2D art part. Then, i went home.

Day 13

Editing today, Apple's late, didnt do much today. Jingyuan's sick, hope she's alright.

Day 12

Editing today, and we found out that the overlapping part in the 2D art scene was wrongly done. Sad, we need to re-shoot it.

Day Extra

Today was saturday, we did the re-shooting to make-up for yesterday. We ended around 3 p.m and went home.

Day 10

We did editing and also wanted to re-shoot the some parts, but all of us did not wear the clothes for shooting. Another day wasted.

Day 9

I brought my laptop today for video editing but i found out that my premier PRO did not work. Sad, in the end, Jingyuan used it to do animation as she said that she is not used to school's computer. Weird. Did some editing and that's all for today.

Day 8

Today Clinton got pissed off. As we requested him to went home and bring the video files back to school. He waited for us latecomers too, so he jus went off. We follow him to his house to get the files and went back to school. i understand the feeling of being pissed so i did not talk to Clinton about it. When we went back to school, we found out that there wasn't any computers left for video editing. Wasted another day.

Day 7

We managed to shoot the last scene today. We wanted to do editing but something's wrong with Wendy's hard drive so we can't do anything. Sad day.

Day 6

Today we wanted to see the videos on the computer in the 3D lab. Then, Alan came in and said we mus leave this room, but we did not have any hard drives big enought to store our videos, Thanks to Wendy, we managed to store it inside her hard drives.

Did shootings today to make-up for yesterday.

Day 5

I was late today, sorry. We did the scenes of my part walking up the stairs and that's all.

Day 4

Today we shot the scene of the spy entering Temasek Poly. Me, Clinton and Sarah blocked the traffic so that the shooting can go on smoothly. Stil, it took a few attempts. Then, we went on to shoot the 3D lab part. There again there was a mistake made by Apple that made us roll on floor laughing! She mixed up 'quite good' and 'not bad', and she said 'QUITE BAD'! Hahaha! Lastly, we shot the 2D art part and went home.

Day 3

Today we continue with our filming. It was the beginning scene when the spy follows the first target. And so, Apple wore a huge coat, hat and shades as she was acting as the spy. There was a funny part in the filming when Apple actually knocked her ead onto the wall, which made everyone nearby burst into laughter. Maybe she did not prepare well enough. Later on, we had Jeremy to help us in one of the scene. We also ask a bunch of peoples to help us in the lift scene. We ended quite early today.

Day 2

We met up at around 12 today to start out filming. But a problem arised. There was no battery in the video camera! So, we went to the equipment store at level 1 to get a new one, but we need to wait for the person-in-charge to come back from his lunch-break. We managed to exchange for a new one and started our filming. With the help of some of our friends, including Gina and Betty, we managed to complete around 3 scenes today. We ended at around 6.30 p.m and went home.

Day 1

New block.
We met in schl at 8.30 a.m to do our storyboard as today was the submission of our storyboard, together with other things. We managed to do quite alot by 2 p.m but did not managed to finish it. Luckily, Ronald let us email the copy to him, thus giving us more time to work on it. That's all for today.

Day 15

Presentation again. We presented our storyboard, script and production time line. Some of our stroryboards were not the same as our actual produtions so we need to re-shhot it as the storyboard and the actual video must be the same. I also saw other groups' works and i think they were great too. Looks like we must buck up too!

day 14

We did the remaining parts of our criminal records, which is the testimonials. I typed a very fake and exaggerating, but i like it as it looks more like a criminal's testimonial. They all used their secondary school's testimonials instead. But anyway , who will read it? Haha.

Day 13

We went to the Mac lab and did some photo shootings for our criminal records. We were having fun with the photo booth from the Macs. I think their quality was great. After that, we cropped our face out usinh PhotoShop.

Day 12

I was the first to reach class today. While waiting for groups members to come, i entertain myslef with the Jay Chou's World Tour Concert from JY's laptop. Very nice. When they all came, we dicuss about the scripts. That's all for today.

Day 11

Today was an unlucky day. We discovered that our props broke although it was placed in a box and somewhere safe. Too bad, we had to redo the props again. We also did some of the shots for storyboards in the 3D lab. After that, I went home.

Day 10

We met up and did some research on our introduction part. Nothing much today, we went home early after the research and rest.

Day 9

I was late today! When i reached class, they were already having an activity. i joined a group and sat down and tried to understand the situation. Then, i realised that they were doing an activity to ask about Alan,anything about him. So we were required to obtain informations from him. After we wrote down the questions, Alan started to answer them. Some questions were funny and hilarious. This activity was to let us know how and what informations obtained can help us in our works, in another word, research. After that we went to the studio to do some clay model props for the storyboard shooting.

Day 8

We started our storyboards today. We were using photos for our board instead of drawings. We also assigned roles for the storyboards and started. We didn't finish the whole storyboard as we missed some things we need to prepare and had to postpone the shooting. Have a nice day.

Day 7

We finalised our ideas today. We decided to include the main modules in MOI such as DMFun, VideoFun, AnimationFUn, 2DArt, 3DArt as including too many modules would make the video too long and draggy. We also came up with our schedules which we would execute in the following days.

Day 6

It was presentation day, we presented our ideas and waiting for it to be approved by ronald. We would roughly have a spy following MOI students to spy on what they are doing in the course. In the process of spying, we would take chances to demostrate our individual talents. This would show the things we learn and do in MOI and what makes it interesting. Because of noise pollution in the classroom, Ronald was quite angry and also mad e a point that why didn't we go on to do on year 2 and 3's stuffs. But stil it's our choice.

Day 5

Today Alphie took over us. We had our consultation again for today with him. We had a better idea of what we should do for our project. I thought with Alphie's explainations, I could understand better on what we were suppose to do. Ok, we had our ideas approved and tomorrow's presentation.

Day 4

We had some movies today again. Ronalds' not here again, so we joined Alan's class. During our consultation, we were told that the theme fun we had was not a solid theme. It was just something that describes. We then came up with another theme which was crime. We would include ideas such as crimial records, jail bars and things related to crime. We would also include a spy which will enhance our theme. Hope this theme works.

Day 3

Today, we had combined lesson together with alphie's class, as ronalds' not available on that day. We watched some films together, and one of the films was about mountain climbing which the video quality was bad as it was very shaky. It's not recommended to produce this kind of video as it show bad video recording skills. After that, we had some small discussion and left.

Day 2

Today we began discussing about what we were going to do for our project clip. We started brainstorming and came up with several ideas. We thought of using animations for the introduction and the ending. We might also decide to let real people interact with animations. Out theme would be 'Fun in MOI' For the introductions, we would compare design school from other schools, then moving on to various courses in design school and finally MOI. In between would be mostly video filming of various modules and things we did in MOI, and also individual talents of our group members. These are briefly what our ideas are currently, but as we move on, we might change some parts and develop into more interesting ideas.

Day 1

Hi! Shao Hui here from MOI, and this blog is my diary for MOI project 1 which will last for 2 blocks. We had a briefing at LT25 today. Alan briefed us about out project 1. We were required to produce a 10 minutes video documentary and our targeted audiences are the freshmen from the orientation camp, people at open houses and our parents. We were also briefed about our timetable and submission requirements. We then formed into groups and discussed briefly what we would be doing. I think this project would be an interesting and fun one. =D
